Who has wisdom?

There may be people in this world that are smarter than me. Oh my! Whether they are the most God-fearing person or the worst pagan they may have more intelligence than me. But having knowledge and having God-given wisdom are two different things. In Job 32-34 Elihu enters the scene and we learn that he has been there for some time but he did not speak up because he was younger than Job's other three friends. Elihu said that he thought age should speak. BUT then he said something interesting. He said, "It is the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding. It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right." Elihu was filled with the Spirit and he said, "I am full of words, and the spirit within me compels me..." These thoughts encourage me to be filled with the Spirit and not to be intimidated by the older person. I should speak up and share the widsom that God gives through His Spirit.

Lord, fill me up with Your Spirit. Give me wisdom and understanding that is true and useful for building up Your Kingdom. Do not let me live on my own understanding but may the words that come from my mouth be pleasing to You and be "the very words of God." Lord, fill me up with Your Spirit.
