Job enters the scene
So the book of Job shows up. They're not 100% sure where it fits historically but they figure its around the time of Abraham. Its interesting to me that Job gave sacrifices on behalf of his children. He knew what God required of him and it seems like he was going beyond that because it says that he said "perhaps my children have sinned." Is Job a type of Christ? His friend's could hardly recognize him from the suffering he went through. Jesus' suffering made him difficult to recognize. It's seems like the righteous will suffer and usually those that are heros or martyrs suffer greatly.
Lord, I find it hard to submit to the point of suffering. Its hard for me to say that I want to share in your suffering. I don't know if I can say "no" to the world when it presses in or "yes" to your will when my flesh and my weaknesses fight against what you want. Lord, teach me to say "yes!" For your glory and honor.
