The Tower

This morning I ate Genesis 10 and 11 and several little passages from 1 Chronicles. It was mostly about the geneologies between Seth and Abram (Abraham). I don't find family trees that exciting at this point in my life. One time in my life I was very fascinated with them and did a lot of research into my own family tree. For some reason I've lost that interest. The tower of Babel is a fascinating story to me. I understand that this is were we gain the majority of the world's languages and legends/stories about the flood. Most cultures have a flood story in their history. The confusion of languages started because of pride and so God confused them.

Lord, you are not the auther of confusion but the God of peace. Lord, do not let my pride ruin me or allow me to become confused or to follow after other gods. May my heart be content in you and allow you to rule over it. May your peace bring me to a place where I can hear your voice - instead of the many confusing voices around me.
