Monsters

Behemoth. Leviathan. What were these creatures? The NIV thinks they were either hippopotamus, elephant or crocodile. Maybe. But what about dinosaurs and fire-breathing dragons? Even though we don't really know for sure these monsters must have made an impression on the people of Job's time. Infact some of the last words that God speaks to Job are about these two creatures. Its kinda strange to me...but I supposed God was using a visual, down-to-earth example for Job to realize God's power and that God was in control. God creatures all creatures - the massive blue whale to the tinest insect in the jungle. Why do we so quickly have fear for the monsters in our lives? Do we fear God as much? In the story of Job, he spoke what was right even though he did not understand. He also humbled himself before God and realized that he was nothing compared to His Maker. God blessed him abundantly and Job was some what of a priest on behalf of his friends.

Lord, speak to me out of the storm. Show me Your power and might that I may fear You. Lord, do not let me fear the things of this world - but give me a holy humility to trust You and to surrender every part of my life to You. Burden me with love and compassion for the people around me and those that I may meet today.
