Doubting and confronting God
This morning, I read through Genesis 15-18. Abram doubted God and questioned him inregards to having a son in his old age. I would have too. Sarah doubted God as well and tried to remedy the situation. I would have tried to make things rational too. Even though they doubted God they also had a relationship with God. They stayed in contact. God had revealed to Abraham that he was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because "their sin" was "so grievous." Abraham confronted God and challenged Him to spare the righteous. I find that amazing. I also find it fascinating about the new names that God gave Abram (Abraham) and Sarai (Sarah). I find it interesting that BEFORE they were given their shiny new names God had already given them the promise. This shows me that God's promises are eternal and even if we are not up to par, washed totally clean, perfect, God's grace is there and He desires to use us even in the state that we are in.
Lord, let me live a life that can only be explained that You are present. Let things happen in my life today that show Your supernatural, eternal power. Less of me and MORE of You. Give me courage and boldness to trust in You and to rely on Your grace. To You be the glory!
