Breaking point

In this morning's reading, I read how Joseph could not conceil his identity any longer he came to the breaking point. He wept and cried and revealed who he was to his brothers. Joseph also had the wisdom to say to them that God turned this situation out for good and through Joseph many people were saved from the famine. Joseph showered them with gifts and instructed them not to grumble or argue amoung themselves (probably because he gave way more gifts to his brother Benjamin). A little phrase jumped out at me: speaking about Judah's descendants it said, "a ruler came from him" (1 Chronicles 5:2). This could be speaking about David but it could also be a reference to Christ.

Lord humble me that I would be bold enough to reveal to others my true identity. Give me courage and strength to be authentic and real. Lord, break my heart with the things that break your heart so that my tears are genuine and true. And help me to see you more and more.
