Golden Lampstand, Water of Cleansing, Not Breaking Bones, Trumpets and Camping with God

This morning I ate Numbers 8, 9 and 10. Lots of food to eat! There were seven lamps on one lampstand and they were to face forward and light the area infront of the lampstand. Revelation talks about seven lampstands (which are the seven churches). Jesus proclaimed "I am the light of the world," He also said, "You are the light of the world." Jesus is the light that reveals, he reveals what is in the darkness, he guides our steps because before he brought light, we could not see where we were going. The Levites were purified by being "Sprinkled with the water of cleansing." I find this very interesting because we cannot enter the Kingdom of God unless we are born of water and the Spirit (John 3:5). The Word is also something that cleanses us like water (Ephesians 5:26). Another fascinating thing in this morning's reading is the part about not breaking any of the bones of the Passover lamb.
“Do not break any of the bones.” (Ex 12:46).
“They must not…break any of its bones” (Nu 9:12).
“A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken” (Psalm 34:19-20).

This is fascinating. God instructed the people that they were not to break the bones of the Passover lamb. According to John, Jesus was crucified on the Day of Preparation (I believe this is the day before the Passover, or at least a special Sabbath). The Jews did not want to break Deut 21:22-23 (which says, “If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his body is hung on a tree, you must not leave his body on the tree overnight. Be sure to bury him that same day, because anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s curse.”). So they asked that Jesus’ legs be broken (which would have sped up the crucifixion), but when they went to break his legs…he was already dead. John explains that Scripture was fulfilled “Not one of his bones will be broken.” The Passover lamb was not to have any of his bones broken and this little detail shows Christ is the Passover Lamb.
The two silver trumpets were to be blown at different times, in different ways, for different purposes.
1- Both trumpets were sounded to bring the whole community together
2- One trumpet was sounded to bring the leaders together
3- One trumpet was sounded (a blast – a different sound than the others) to say “Judah get moving.” (Judah was the first tribe that was to set out).
4- Both trumpets were sounded (a different blast) when they were to go to war (in their own land).
5- Both trumpets were to be sounded over the burnt offerings during the appointed feasts.
Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Rise up, O LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you.” Whenever it came to rest, he said, “Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel.”

Lord guide me by your Light. Lord reveal your truth to me. Reveal Christ and let me live in Your Presence and not in the darkness. Lord wash me by your Word. Set me apart and let me live supernaturally and not by my own methods of purification. Lord, help me to see Jesus more. Let me have a deeper understanding of what it means that Jesus is the Passover lamb who takes away my sin. Lord give me a heart that is willing to move and go wherever and whenever you want. Grow in me a desire to follow you at any moment of the day. Help me to trust you to lead me and allow you to fight the battle for me. To You be the glory!
